Former prime minister Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta have long been buddies. Even though they have experienced their fair share of problems and misunderstandings, they constantly strive to be friends and cooperate.

There are many pictures of the group from a few years ago, but Kenyans seem to like this particular one the best. They appeared to be heading somewhere together in the picture. They were both carrying umbrellas and had bodyguards.

Raila Odinga

Raila Amolo Odinga was born 7 January 1945, also popularly known to his supporters as Agwambo, is a Kenyan politician. He was the last Prime Minister of Kenya. He was elected in 2008. He was leading to a coalition government from 2008 to 2013. He was the last prime minister of Kenya until the position was abolished in 2013.

Many Kenyans consider Odinga to be a firebrand, a notion reinforced by statements in his biography suggesting he was involved in a coup attempt in 1982. He is now attempting to present a more composed, professional demeanour. Fidel Castro is the name given by Odinga to his firstborn son, who was educated in the disused East Germany.

Raila is described on the Leipzig alumni directory as a Kenyan politician, presidential aspirant, businessman and former Prime Minister.

He also recognized as havimg served as Lang’ata MP, energy minister, and Minister for Roads, Public Works and Housing.

Uhuru Kenyatta

Kenyatta was born on 26 October 1961, to the first president of Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta, and his fourth wife, Mama Ngina Kenyatta (née Muhoho). The second born in the family, he has two sisters, Christine (born 1953), Anna Nyokabi (born 1963) and a brother, Muhoho Kenyatta (born 1965).

Between 1969 and 1980 Uhuru Kenyatta attended St Mary’s School in Nairobi where he graduated with his London GCE A-Levels in 1979.

Uhuru Kenyatta enrolled to study economics, political science and government at the Amherst College in the United States. He graduated in 1985.

His family hails from the Kikuyu, a Bantu ethnic group. His given name “Uhuru” is from the Swahili term for “freedom” and was given to him in anticipation of Kenya’s upcoming independence. Uhuru attended St Mary’s School in Nairobi. Between 1979 and 1980, he also briefly worked as a teller at the Kenya Commercial Bank

Kenyatta was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade in April 2008. In the same year, he was transferred to the Treasury as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, as part of the Grand Coalition Cabinet, where he served up to January 2012. He served as the Member of Parliament for Gatundu South Constituency beginning in 2002. Former President Kenyatta was also the Chairman of Kenya African National Union (KANU), which was a part of the Party of National Unity (PNU).
