Ferdinard Ndungu Waititu, also known as Baba Yao, is a Kenyan politician who served as the second governor of Kiambu County from 2016 to January 2020.
Former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu has requested the people of Mt Kenya to forgive him over what he termed was misleading them to vote for UDA.
“I left the UDA party and I never joined Azimio. I’m partyless now but I’m where the people of Mt Kenya are,” he said.
“I would like to seek forgiveness for misleading the community but in the next election, we will speak in one voice.”
Amid applouse from the crowd, the former Kiambu county boss confessed that he contributed to the predicaments the Mt Kenya region and the country is facing noting that despite supporting the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, the people were lied to.
“I was among those who campaigned for UDA, and as a result, our people were lied to. We were duped. I contributed to the predicaments the Mt Kenya region and the country is facing.” Waititu noted.
He spoke during the Limuru III conference.
He said that in the next election, the Mt Kenya region will field its candidate.
“By doing so, the respect of Mt Kenya will restored,” the former governor said.He noted that the interest of Mt Kenya can’t be represented by an outsider
The former governor also shared that he resigned from the party (UDA) after realizing that the party lied to Kenyans during the campaign period, only to fail in fulfilling its promises.
