Photos of famous Businessman and wife who died instantly fatal crash

A sombre mood has engulfed the Ukambani region following the sudden and tragic death of renowned businessman Stephen Ngei Musyoka and his wife, Giannaphina Mumbua Ngei, who lost their lives in a devastating road accident along the busy Mombasa–Nairobi Highway.

The couple, widely known as the owners of Makindu Motors and respected entrepreneurs in the region, met their untimely deaths on Saturday, June 20, when the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a long-distance trailer.

The horrific crash occurred at the Crashier area, turning a routine journey into a heartbreaking tragedy that has left family members, friends, employees, and business associates struggling to come to terms with the loss.

Videos circulating on social media captured the chilling aftermath of the accident. The footage showed Musyoka’s mangled Toyota pick-up crushed beyond recognition alongside a heavily damaged trailer bearing South Sudan (SSD) registration plates. Twisted metal, shattered vehicle parts, and debris littered the highway, painting a grim picture of the force with which the two vehicles collided.

According to a police report, the trailer was being driven by 21-year-old Mohamed Maulid Mohamud and was headed towards Mombasa when it collided with the Toyota pick-up driven by Musyoka. The impact was catastrophic.

Musyoka, aged 53, and his wife Giannaphina died instantly at the scene. Another male passenger who was travelling in the pick-up survived the crash but sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. The trailer driver reportedly escaped the accident without injuries.

News of the couple’s death spread rapidly across Ukambani, triggering an outpouring of grief from residents, leaders, and members of the business community who remembered Musyoka as a hardworking entrepreneur whose influence extended far beyond the motor vehicle industry.

Over the years, Musyoka had built a vast business empire through Makindu Motors and other ventures across the region. Many credited him with creating employment opportunities for hundreds of young people and supporting numerous families through his businesses.

Among those who paid tribute was former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who described Musyoka as a humble, dedicated, and visionary businessman whose contributions to society would be remembered for generations.

“Their sudden passing is a great loss to their family, friends, and the wider community. My thoughts and prayers are with their children, loved ones, and all those mourning this painful loss. May God grant them strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time, and may the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace,” Muthama said.

As preparations for the couple’s final send-off begin, many across Ukambani continue to mourn two lives cut short in a tragedy that has left a deep wound in the hearts of those who knew them. What remains are memories of a couple who built businesses, transformed lives, and earned the admiration of an entire community.
