Media personality Willis Raburu and his longtime partner Ivy Namu have officially announced the end of their relationship after spending five years together.
The couple, who share two children — a son and a daughter — had become one of Kenya’s closely followed celebrity families, with fans often admiring moments from their life together.
Speaking during a recent Q&A session, Ivy revealed that their journey began while she was working at Royal Media Services, where she met Raburu. Their relationship later blossomed and led to building a family together.
Back in 2021, when they welcomed their first child, Ivy made headlines after confidently responding to questions about whether the pregnancy had been planned.
“It is my life and I do what I want when I want and how I want. Also, hii life haina manual — there is no one-size-fits-all formula,” she said at the time.
However, despite appearing united publicly, the relationship has now come to an end.
Ivy Namu Confirms Separation
Taking to her Instagram stories, Ivy shared a short but emotional statement confirming the breakup.
“Willis Raburu and I have decided to go our separate ways. Kindly respect our privacy at this moment,” she wrote.
The announcement immediately sparked conversations online, with fans expressing shock and sending messages of support.
Interestingly, the news also attracted attention after Willis’ former wife, Marya Prude, appeared to react on social media.
Marya shared videos while getting her hair done and captioned one of them:
“Kindly respect my privacy as I switch up my hair.”
In another clip, the podcaster smiled while using an audio that stated:
“We are extremely happy.”
Although she did not directly address the breakup, the posts quickly fueled speculation online.
A Relationship Marked by Public Highs and Personal Challenges
Willis’ previous marriage to Marya had previously faced heartbreaking challenges, particularly after the tragic loss of their newborn daughter, Adana, in early 2020.
In earlier interviews, Raburu spoke openly about how the grief deeply affected him and created distance within the marriage, eventually leading to divorce proceedings during the COVID-19 period. Marya later moved out of their matrimonial home.

She shared a video while at the hairdresser, and she asked for privacy as she switched up her hairstyle. “Kindly respect my privacy as I switch up my hair,” she captioned the video.
In another video, the podcaster shared an audio with the message ‘we are extremely happy,’ as she laughed cheekily. She later took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that several Kenyans were in her DMs giving her ‘tea’ and she admitted that she was extremely happy.
