Photos of woman who died at workplace bathroom after denied sick leave

A cloud of grief and unanswered questions hangs over the family of Gcina Dhladhla following her tragic death at her workplace, an incident that has sparked outrage and intense debate on social media.

Gcina, who worked at Cartrack’s head office in Rosebank, reportedly suffered from a worsening illness in the days leading up to her death. According to allegations shared by family representatives and colleagues, she informed management about her condition but allegedly continued facing pressure regarding her attendance.

Claims circulating online suggest that despite feeling unwell, Gcina was allegedly warned about absenteeism and called into meetings to explain her absence from work.

According to a Facebook post by Ladylondie Sjeks, Gcina reported to work on Friday after allegedly being threatened with dismissal if she failed to show up.

However, what began as an ordinary workday would end in tragedy.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., Gcina reportedly went to the bathroom after feeling unwell. When she remained inside for an unusually long period, her team leader became concerned and went to check on her.

After receiving no response, security personnel were reportedly called to unlock the door.

What they found shocked everyone.

Gcina was lying unconscious on the bathroom floor. Reports indicate that she had removed some of her clothing because she was experiencing extreme heat and discomfort.

The situation that followed has now become the subject of intense scrutiny.

According to allegations made by family representatives, Gcina remained on the floor for a considerable period while efforts were made to arrange medical assistance. CPR was reportedly attempted by individuals who were not certified first-aid responders, and concerns have been raised about whether emergency medical services were contacted promptly.

Further claims suggest that a manager personally travelled to a nearby Netcare facility to request an ambulance instead of emergency services being dispatched immediately.

By the time further help was being sought, witnesses allege that Gcina’s condition had deteriorated significantly. Her body had reportedly become cold, her hands and feet had turned purple, and she had begun bleeding from the nose.

The family’s concerns deepened when they learned that an ambulance allegedly arrived only after 11:00 a.m., more than two hours after she was discovered unconscious.

According to the claims, it was only after family members intervened and insisted that emergency services be contacted that an ambulance was dispatched.

Sadly, when paramedics eventually arrived, Gcina was pronounced dead.

The devastating news sent shockwaves through her family, friends, and colleagues, many of whom are now demanding a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding her final hours.

Gcina had reportedly voiced concerns in the past about how she was treated in the workplace, making the tragedy even more painful for those who knew her.

Her loved ones say they are not only mourning a daughter, sister, and colleague but are also seeking answers about whether more could have been done to save her life.

As calls for accountability continue to grow, many are urging authorities and the company involved to establish exactly what happened from the moment Gcina reported feeling ill until emergency responders arrived.

For now, a grieving family is left with heartbreak, painful questions, and memories of a life they believe ended far too soon.
