The Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) community has been plunged into mourning following the death of Dr Regina Nabwire Bwire, a chemistry lecturer who passed away while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu.

According to the burial arrangements, Dr Nabwire will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her ancestral home in Wakhungu Village, Funyula, Busia County.
Family members, friends, colleagues, students and other mourners are expected to converge at the rural home to pay their final respects and celebrate the life of the late lecturer.
