Drama as 2 married MCAs fight over female colleague

A county assembly has become the centre of intense speculation after reports emerged that two popular married male Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) have allegedly fallen out over the attention of a female colleague.

What was once regarded as one of the strongest friendships within the assembly is now said to have turned into a cold and uncomfortable rivalry, leaving fellow legislators and staff wondering what really went wrong.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the two politicians were once inseparable. They were frequently seen chatting in the assembly chambers, attending official events together, and enjoying each other’s company even outside work. Their friendship was considered one of the closest among members of the county assembly.

However, insiders now claim that the bond has completely broken down.

Sources allege that the fallout began after both men reportedly grew close to the same female MCA, with jealousy and bruised egos said to have driven a wedge between the once-close friends.

“They used to be together all the time, but nowadays they can hardly look at each other, let alone hold a conversation,” one source within the assembly reportedly said.

The alleged tension has not remained behind closed doors. Insiders claim it has occasionally spilled into official business, creating awkward moments during assembly sittings whenever the three legislators are present.

Colleagues are also said to have made several attempts to mend the fractured friendship, but those efforts have reportedly failed.

“Many members have tried to bring them together and encourage them to resolve their differences, but nothing seems to be working. Whatever happened appears to run much deeper than ordinary political disagreements,” another insider claimed.

The female MCA said to be at the centre of the reported dispute has largely remained silent and has not publicly addressed the speculation surrounding her.

Meanwhile, the alleged rift has reportedly become an open secret within the assembly, with some staff members and legislators said to be avoiding seating the two men near each other during meetings in an effort to prevent further awkward encounters.

Despite the growing rumours, neither of the two MCAs has publicly confirmed or denied the claims, and attempts to obtain their comments were reportedly unsuccessful.

For now, the whispers continue to circulate through the assembly corridors, leaving many wondering whether the reported rivalry will eventually fade away—or whether the political drama is only just beginning.
