What began as student dissatisfaction over a school event reportedly escalated into one of the most shocking incidents ever witnessed at Lenana School, leaving parents, teachers, and Kenyans across the country stunned.

The prestigious institution was forced to send students home after unrest erupted on campus, prompting school administrators to suspend learning and allow a comprehensive assessment of the situation as efforts to restore order got underway.
According to a parent who spoke anonymously, the events that unfolded during the unrest were deeply disturbing and went far beyond the usual student demonstrations.
The parent, recounting a story allegedly shared by their child, claimed that a group of Form Three and Form Four students openly confronted the school principal in a manner many have described as humiliating and disrespectful.
“I could hardly believe what I was hearing,” the parent said. “Students reportedly shouted at the principal while he was addressing them. Some even threw spoons at him. Regardless of whatever grievances they had, that level of disrespect is unacceptable.”
Even more shocking were allegations that one teacher was physically assaulted during the chaos. According to the parent, the teacher found himself surrounded by angry students and was left emotionally overwhelmed.
“They cornered one of the teachers, and by the time the situation calmed down, he was reportedly in tears. It was heartbreaking to hear,” the parent added.
As tensions continued to rise, the deputy principal allegedly stepped in to calm the students. Surprisingly, the students reportedly listened to him. However, they are said to have demanded that the principal repeat every statement the deputy principal made, effectively reducing him to a spectator in his own school.
“The principal had to repeat what the deputy was saying because the students insisted on it. Imagine a school principal being forced into such a situation. It was sad and embarrassing,” the parent lamented.
School management later issued a statement linking the unrest to concerns surrounding the annual Maroon Festival, a popular event designed to showcase student talents. The festival was held on May 31, but students reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with how it had been organized and managed.
According to the school administration, the concerns quickly escalated into unrest that required immediate intervention from the administration, education officials, and security personnel.
Preliminary assessments also revealed extensive damage to school property. Several window panes in classrooms, the library, science laboratories, and the main hall were reportedly destroyed. Some CCTV cameras were also vandalized during the chaos.
The incident has sparked a heated debate online, with many Kenyans expressing concern over what they see as a growing decline in discipline among students.

As investigations continue, many Kenyans are now waiting to learn the full truth behind the unrest and whether those responsible for the alleged acts will face disciplinary action. The incident has reignited a national conversation about student discipline, leadership in schools, and the challenges facing learning institutions across the country.
