AFTER 3 YEARS IN SAUDI ARABIA, MAN RETURNS TO FIND FATHER UNTHINKABLE WITH HIS MONEY

Kevin Mworia from Mikinduri in Meru County expected a happy reunion after returning home from Saudi Arabia, but his homecoming instead ended in disappointment after he allegedly discovered that the money he had worked so hard to earn had been misused by his father.

Kevin is said to have spent three years working under difficult conditions in Saudi Arabia with the goal of improving his life and building a better future for himself in Kenya. Family sources revealed that he regularly sent money back home to his father with specific instructions to construct a good house for him before his return.

Reports indicate that the total amount he sent exceeded KSh 3 million over the years.

However, when Kevin completed his contract and came back home, he was shocked to find that the house was still unfinished and did not match the expectations he had based on the large sums of money he had provided.

Residents in the area allege that Kevin’s father diverted part of the funds to marry a woman who already had five children. According to sources within the village, some of the money was also reportedly used to cater for the new family’s needs, including school fees and daily expenses.

The incident has stirred strong emotions among residents of Mikinduri, many of whom sympathized with Kevin. Some villagers claimed he became overwhelmed after realizing that years of hard work and sacrifice abroad had not delivered the future he had hoped for.

Stories of Kenyans working overseas and sending money home, only to later discover betrayal or misuse of their earnings, have become more common in recent years. Many migrant workers leave relatives in charge of important investments and development projects while abroad, only to return and find the funds poorly managed.

Kevin’s experience has since sparked widespread discussion online, with many people describing it as a painful reminder about trust, family relationships, and the importance of financial accountability.

People should learn to use contactors. Just send upkeep for the parents. Maybe that is the standard of the father.
