The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) voter register shows that 24,715,257 Kenyans are registered to vote as of July 2026, highlighting the country’s electoral landscape ahead of the next General Election.
Nairobi City County tops the list with 2,743,155 registered voters, making it the largest voting bloc in the country. It is followed by Kiambu County with 2,426,477 voters, while Nakuru County ranks third with 1,965,036 voters.
Rounding off the top five are Meru County with 949,046 voters and Kakamega County with 948,567 voters, underscoring their continued importance in Kenya’s political arithmetic.
Other counties with significant voter populations include Machakos (784,702), Bungoma (738,640), Kisii (710,585), Mombasa (707,526) and Murang’a (673,286). These counties are expected to remain key battlegrounds as political parties intensify preparations for future elections.

At the other end of the spectrum, Lamu County has the fewest registered voters at 91,604, followed by Isiolo (100,533), Samburu (120,805), Tana River (161,002) and Marsabit (191,343).
The latest figures illustrate the wide variation in voter populations across Kenya’s 47 counties, with highly urbanized counties accounting for much larger voting blocs than sparsely populated regions.
