This cute lady working in Saudi Arabia dies in company of Man and child

A wave of sorrow has swept through Kapsara in Kitale following the heartbreaking death of Lornah Chebet, a young Kenyan woman who had travelled to Saudi Arabia in search of a better life for her family.

Photos of the late Chebet have emerged online as relatives, friends, and neighbours struggle to come to terms with the devastating loss of a woman remembered for her determination, resilience, and unwavering commitment to supporting her loved ones.

Chebet had relocated to Abha, Saudi Arabia, where she was working as a housemaid. Like many Kenyans seeking opportunities abroad, she left home with dreams of lifting her family out of hardship and building a brighter future.

Those dreams, however, were tragically cut short during a journey to Riyadh.

According to reports, Chebet was travelling alongside her employer, the employer’s husband, and their two children when their vehicle was involved in a horrific road accident.

The impact of the crash was devastating. The employer’s husband and one of the children died instantly at the scene. Rescue teams rushed to save the remaining survivors, including Chebet, her employer, and the second child, all of whom had sustained severe injuries.

They were transported to Al Muzahmiyya General Hospital for emergency treatment. Despite desperate efforts by medical personnel, Chebet later succumbed to her injuries. The family’s four-year-old child also lost the battle for survival while receiving treatment.

Back in Kenya, the tragic news reached Chebet’s family through social media, leaving relatives stunned and overwhelmed with grief.

Her sister, Mercy Jepkemoi, later confirmed the heartbreaking loss in an emotional TikTok video. Fighting back tears, she described Chebet as the fourth-born in a family of six and revealed how deeply the tragedy had affected the entire family.

Friends and neighbours have since paid glowing tribute to the young woman, describing her as hardworking, humble, and focused on creating a better life for those she loved.

As preparations begin to repatriate her body to Kenya for burial, mourning continues in both Saudi Arabia and her hometown of Kapsara.

Chebet’s death serves as a painful reminder of the sacrifices made by thousands of Kenyans working far from home. What began as a journey of hope and opportunity ended in tragedy, leaving behind shattered dreams, grieving families, and a community struggling to fill the void left by a life lost too soon.
