A trainee teacher attached to St. Bakhita Ebusiratsi Girls Secondary School is at the centre of a growing controversy after he was allegedly discovered in a rental house with a 17-year-old student, leading to his arrest and the launch of a police investigation.

The 21-year-old trainee teacher, identified as Charles Musalia Andefo, was arrested after concerned members of the public reportedly alerted authorities when they noticed him entering a rental room accompanied by the schoolgirl. Their suspicions prompted a swift response from law enforcement officers, who moved to verify the report.
According to preliminary accounts, police officers arrived at the scene and found the house locked from the inside. The situation immediately raised concerns, prompting the officers to knock repeatedly on the door. After a short while, the occupants opened up, and officers allegedly found both the trainee teacher and the student inside the premises.
Investigators later established that the girl was a student at the same institution where Andefo was undertaking his teaching practice. The discovery sparked fresh concerns over the relationship between teachers and learners, especially in institutions entrusted with the safety and welfare of students.
As investigations intensified, detectives uncovered another crucial detail. The rental house where the pair were found was reportedly leased by another teacher from the school, identified as Testimony Elolo Garo. Authorities are now seeking to determine the extent of his involvement and whether he had any knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The development has sent shockwaves through the local community, with parents and education stakeholders expressing concern over the allegations. The case has also reignited discussions about safeguarding students and maintaining professional boundaries within learning institutions.
Police have since arrested both Andefo and Garo to assist with investigations. Detectives are expected to record statements from witnesses and gather additional evidence as they seek to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
The trainee teacher remains in custody as authorities continue with inquiries, while the student is receiving the necessary support as investigations proceed. The outcome of the probe is expected to determine the next legal steps in a case that has attracted significant public attention.
