Son of former long time MP dies while after father’s death

A heavy cloud of grief has descended upon Bomachoge Borabu and the wider Kisii community following the heartbreaking death of Dr. Dennis Omari Onyancha, the firstborn son of the late former Bomachoge Borabu Member of Parliament, Hon. Joel Onyancha.

The devastating news has left relatives, friends, colleagues and residents in mourning as they struggle to come to terms with the untimely loss of a man remembered for his humility, professionalism and dedication to serving others. Messages of condolence have continued to pour in from across the country, with many describing Dr. Omari as a kind-hearted individual whose life touched countless people.

The pain of losing a child is one of life’s greatest tragedies, and many have expressed their sympathy to the Onyancha family during this incredibly difficult period. They have prayed for strength, comfort and courage for the family as they mourn the loss of a beloved son, brother, father and friend.

Dr. Omari’s passing also revives memories of the death of his father, Hon. Joel Onyancha, who passed away in August 2018 at the age of 57 while receiving treatment at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi after a short illness.

Hon. Onyancha was a respected political figure who served as the Member of Parliament for Bomachoge Borabu. During his political career, he also held the position of Assistant Minister in the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture before later serving in the Ministry of Sports. His leadership earned him recognition both within Kisii County and nationally.

In the 2017 General Election, the late politician contested for the Bomachoge Borabu parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket. However, he lost to independent candidate Zadock Ogutu and later filed an election petition challenging the outcome.

Now, nearly eight years after the former legislator’s death, the family is once again facing unimaginable sorrow following the loss of his firstborn son. The double tragedy has deeply moved many who knew the family, with residents of Bomachoge Borabu describing the latest loss as heartbreaking.

As friends and well-wishers continue to send messages of comfort, many are remembering Dr. Dennis Omari Onyancha not only as the son of a prominent leader but also as a man who built his own legacy through his profession and the relationships he nurtured.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may the Onyancha family find strength and comfort during this painful chapter. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
