Fresh and disturbing details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Princess Vivian, a Form Four student at Dhene Secondary School in Siaya County, who was reportedly murdered just days before she was due to sit her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

The young student’s death has sent shockwaves through her family, school community and the wider public, with preliminary accounts pointing to a suspected love triangle involving her boyfriend and another man she had reportedly introduced on social media.

According to information circulating following the incident, Vivian had allegedly been involved in a disagreement with her boyfriend, identified as a young man from Sakwa. The dispute reportedly centred on a mobile phone he had previously purchased for her.

The situation is said to have taken an ugly turn after the boyfriend allegedly discovered that Vivian had used the phone to post another man, identified as Mc Simba from Ramula, on Facebook.

The development reportedly angered him, with claims emerging that he felt betrayed after seeing the young woman publicly associate with another man.

An alleged message attributed to Vivian has also attracted attention online, with the words, โ€œAta ukue na pesa aje, you canโ€™t compete with the man I love,โ€ being widely shared. The statement has sparked emotional reactions, although its authenticity and the exact circumstances surrounding its circulation have not been independently established.

According to preliminary accounts, the boyfriend allegedly confronted Vivian on Friday as she was returning home from school. During the confrontation, he reportedly demanded that she surrender the mobile phone he had bought for her.

What should have been an ordinary journey home from school reportedly turned into a terrifying encounter when the disagreement escalated.

The young man is alleged to have followed Vivian to her family home, where he reportedly attacked her using a sharp object, inflicting serious injuries to her neck and hand.

After the alleged attack, he reportedly left her lying on the veranda before fleeing the scene.

Tragically, Vivian’s parents were reportedly away when the incident occurred. Upon returning home, they were met with a horrifying sight as they discovered their daughter lying in a pool of blood.

The discovery plunged the family into unimaginable grief, especially considering that Vivian was at a crucial stage of her education and was preparing to sit her final secondary school examinations.

Her death has also reignited conversations about relationship violence among young people, possessiveness and the dangers of allowing romantic disagreements to escalate into physical confrontation.

Many Kenyans have expressed disbelief that a disagreement involving a mobile phone and alleged romantic betrayal could reportedly end in such a devastating tragedy.

For her family, however, the pain goes far beyond the circumstances surrounding the incident. They have lost a daughter whose future was still unfolding and who had been preparing for an important milestone in her academic journey.

As investigations continue, questions remain about the events leading to the attack and the whereabouts of the suspected assailant. Authorities will be expected to establish the full circumstances and ensure that anyone responsible is brought to justice.

Vivian’s heartbreaking death is a painful reminder that jealousy, threats and possessive behaviour should never be mistaken for love.

A young student who should have been preparing for her examinations instead became the victim of a tragedy that has left an entire community mourning.

May her family, classmates and teachers find strength during this difficult period. Rest in peace, Princess Vivian. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ’”
