Mzungu dumped husband for a Bungoma man. She sold all her properties to relocate

For many people, leaving behind a comfortable life, family, friends, and everything they have worked for would seem unthinkable. But for American prophetess Ruth Boyce, a series of dreams, prayers, and a message from a Kenyan man on Facebook changed the course of her life forever.

Today, Boyce and her husband, Peter Nyangai, are living a life they describe as guided by faith and divine purpose. Their unusual love story, which spans continents and cultures, has captured the attention of many people curious about how an American woman ended up settling in rural western Kenya.

Speaking about her journey, Boyce revealed that her connection to Africa began long before she ever set foot on the continent. According to her, she repeatedly felt drawn toward Africa during prayer and often saw the continent in her dreams.

The American preacher recalled spending years searching for direction while living in the United States. Despite her desire to serve in ministry, she struggled to understand where God wanted her to go.

“I fumbled around in America for a long time, wondering where I could go and what I should do,” she said. “Whenever I prayed, I could see the map of Africa, but I couldn’t just parachute there. I knew there had to be a purpose and a proper way for it to happen.”

Determined to find answers, Boyce sought guidance from fellow ministers and devoted herself to prayer. Little did she know that the answer she was seeking would arrive in the form of a message from a man thousands of kilometres away.

While praying about her future, she received a Facebook message from Peter Nyangai, a Kenyan man from western Kenya. What began as a simple online conversation gradually developed into a deeper connection.

As they continued communicating, Boyce became convinced that their meeting was not a coincidence but part of a larger plan. She believed that God had orchestrated their encounter and was leading her toward a new chapter in Kenya.

The decision that followed would alter her life completely.

According to Boyce, she chose to walk away from a marriage that had lasted more than three decades. While the decision shocked many people around her, she says she was convinced she was following a divine calling.

Her commitment to the move was so strong that she sold her properties and possessions in the United States. She then sent the proceeds to Nyangai to help facilitate her relocation and settlement in Kenya.

“I wasn’t worried because God came to me and told me that I needed to sell everything that I had,” she explained. “God showed me where to go and who to connect with, and that is why I am here today.”

Boyce says she never looked back after making the life-changing decision. Six years later, she remains in Kenya with Nyangai, building both their marriage and ministry together.

Their story has sparked mixed reactions online. While some admire the couple’s unwavering faith and willingness to follow what they believe was God’s guidance, others have questioned the sacrifices involved in leaving behind an established life and long-term marriage.

Despite the criticism and curiosity surrounding their relationship, Boyce remains firm in her belief that she made the right choice. For her, moving to Kenya was more than a romantic decision—it was the fulfilment of a spiritual journey that began with dreams, prayers, and an unexplainable pull toward Africa.

Today, as she continues her ministry alongside Nyangai, Boyce says she has found peace, purpose, and a sense of belonging she spent years searching for. Whether viewed as a remarkable love story, an act of faith, or a controversial life decision, her journey from America to western Kenya remains one that few could have imagined.
