For months, Ivy Anyango’s family and friends were left with unanswered questions after the young university student suddenly disappeared and communication with her came to an abrupt end.

Now, the search for answers has taken a heartbreaking turn.
Ivy has reportedly been identified as the young woman whose decomposing body was discovered inside a water reservoir near Orange County Hostels, behind Daystar University’s Athi River campus, on September 5.
The discovery has reopened painful questions about what happened to Ivy during the months she was missing and how she ended up at the location where her remains were found.
According to people who knew her, Ivy had reportedly been missing since June, around the same period she lost her mobile phone. From that point, friends say they could no longer reach her, leaving them increasingly worried about her whereabouts.
Ivy was described by those close to her as a kind, cooperative and friendly university student. She lived with a roommate in Rongai but was also known to frequently travel to Athi River, where she had friends studying at Daystar University.
Her connection to the area has now become an important part of the investigation.
When the unidentified body was discovered in September, police reportedly began examining the surrounding area and later found disturbing signs at one of the nearby hostel rooms.
Blood stains were allegedly discovered on the walls of room A031, while panes on a rear window were reportedly broken. Investigators are said to have explored the possibility that the woman could have been forced through the damaged rear window before ending up in the water reservoir.
However, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Authorities have not publicly established how Ivy died, nor has a suspect been identified in connection with the case.
Crime Scene Investigation officers reportedly processed the scene as detectives worked to establish what had happened. The remains were subsequently taken to Machakos Level Five Hospital mortuary, where efforts were made to establish the identity of the deceased before a postmortem examination.
For Ivy’s family and friends, the identification has brought both grief and a renewed determination to understand what happened to her.
They are now appealing to anyone who may have seen Ivy, spoken to her, travelled with her or interacted with her from June onwards to come forward with information.
Of particular interest are details concerning her movements around Athi River, Daystar University and Orange County Hostels, as well as the people she may have interacted with during the period she was missing.
The case has left those who knew her grappling with one haunting question: What happened to Ivy between the time communication with her stopped in June and the discovery of her body on September 5?
As investigators continue piecing together the events surrounding her disappearance and death, her loved ones are hoping that someone, somewhere, holds a crucial piece of information that could finally explain her final days.
For Ivy’s family, the search is no longer about finding her.
It is about finding the truth.
