A female university student has sparked widespread debate on social media after exposing WhatsApp conversations allegedly showing a married lecturer threatening to fail her examinations because she refused to entertain his romantic advances.

The student, who identifies herself as Ms Erianna on TikTok, shared screenshots of her private conversations with the lecturer, identified only as Mr Law, revealing what appeared to be an alarming attempt to use academic authority to pressure her into a relationship.
The screenshots, which were posted two days ago, quickly attracted attention, with many social media users expressing outrage over the alleged misuse of power by someone entrusted with students’ academic progress.
Erianna captioned her viral post, “POV: Your lecturer threatened to fail you,” setting off a heated discussion about sexual harassment, abuse of authority and the vulnerability of university students.
According to the shared conversations, the drama began when the lecturer contacted Erianna demanding to know why she had allegedly left his class abruptly.
He later sent her a photograph of himself before bringing up her personal life. The lecturer reportedly told her that he knew she had a boyfriend, claiming he had previously seen someone dropping her off near the department.
However, the conversation soon took an uncomfortable turn when the lecturer openly expressed his romantic interest in her.
“I like you,” he reportedly told the student.
Erianna did not appear impressed by the confession. Instead, she reminded him that he was a married man and challenged him to respect his marriage rather than attempting to pursue her.
She made it clear that she was not interested and wanted nothing to do with his advances.
But instead of accepting her decision, the lecturer allegedly became confrontational, responding: “Then stop rejecting me like I’m some random boy on campus.”
The student remained firm, refusing to entertain the conversation or change her position.
It was at this point that the exchange reportedly took an even more disturbing direction.
The lecturer allegedly shifted his attention from romance to academics, asking Erianna whether she was taking his course during the semester.
After confirming that academic connection, he reportedly issued a chilling warning that left the student questioning whether her examination results would be used as a weapon against her.
“Then let’s see how that confidence looks when your result comes out,” he allegedly told her.
When Erianna directly asked whether he was threatening to fail her, the lecturer reportedly responded: “I’m reminding you that I’m the one marking your script.”
The exchange allegedly escalated further when he ordered her to report to his office the following day and warned her against making things difficult.
He reportedly threatened that she would have to carry over his course if she refused to cooperate.
However, Erianna appeared determined not to be intimidated. She reminded the lecturer that she had paid her school fees and had her own academic ambitions to protect.
She also made it clear that she would not allow herself to be emotionally manipulated by a married man simply because she had rejected his romantic interest.
Among her most striking responses was a reminder that their conversation had been documented.
“Screenshots exist,” she reportedly told him.
That statement appeared to change the atmosphere of the conversation. The lecturer allegedly demanded that she delete the messages and issued further warnings.
He also reportedly attempted to reach her through two consecutive phone calls, but Erianna did not answer either of them.
She eventually blocked him, bringing the uncomfortable exchange to an end.
Following the publication of the screenshots, social media users flooded the comment section, with many praising the student for standing her ground and refusing to surrender to alleged academic intimidation.
Others urged her to formally report the lecturer to the university administration and relevant disciplinary authorities, arguing that no student should be forced to choose between academic success and submitting to unwanted romantic advances.
The incident has also reignited conversations about the responsibility of university lecturers to maintain professional boundaries and protect students from exploitation.
Many argued that academic authority should never become a tool for personal gratification, intimidation or revenge.
For Erianna, what began as an ordinary WhatsApp conversation with a lecturer has turned into a viral controversy, raising serious questions about the safety, dignity and academic freedom of students in institutions of higher learning.
