Man shoots girlfriend in kisii after finding another man photos in her phone

What was reportedly meant to be the end of a troubled relationship ended in a devastating double tragedy, leaving two families preparing to bury their loved ones.

It was around 11 p.m., and much of the day’s activity had already faded away. Shops had closed, streets were becoming quieter and people were heading home.

But inside a business premises, 30-year-old Veronica was still working.

Veronica had reportedly built a promising business dealing in glass, building fixtures and MDF boards. Through years of hard work, she had also invested in two lorries used to transport goods across the region.

To those who knew her, she was a young businesswoman determined to create a better future for herself.

That future was tragically cut short on a night that began like any other.

According to preliminary police investigations, Vincent Mosioma Michieka arrived at the business premises while Veronica was still there.

The two had reportedly been in a relationship, but the relationship had allegedly become strained. People familiar with the matter said Veronica had discovered that Vincent was married and had two children, prompting her to distance herself and reportedly seek an end to the relationship.

Investigators say an argument later erupted after Vincent allegedly accessed Veronica’s phone and discovered messages involving another man.

The confrontation reportedly took a deadly turn when Vincent allegedly drew a Beretta pistol and shot Veronica.

The sound of gunfire reportedly sent shockwaves through the area, attracting the attention of people nearby. A boda boda rider is said to have raised the alarm as the situation unfolded.

Veronica was rushed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in an attempt to save her life.

Vincent was also taken to the same hospital after reportedly turning the firearm on himself.

Despite efforts to save them, both reportedly succumbed to their injuries.

The incident has since left relatives, friends and members of the business community grappling with the shocking loss of two lives.

Police reportedly recovered a Beretta pistol bearing serial number PX7788F, along with ammunition and spent cartridges at the scene. The firearm was taken for forensic examination as detectives continued piecing together what happened in the final moments before the shooting.

Veronica’s death has particularly shocked those who knew her as an ambitious entrepreneur who had invested heavily in her business and transport ventures.

Vincent was also reportedly connected to the family glass business and had responsibilities within the company.

In the space of a single night, a relationship reportedly heading towards separation ended with two families facing the painful reality of loss.

Instead of a breakup, there were hospital corridors, investigations, unanswered questions and ultimately two funerals.

The tragedy serves as a grim reminder of how quickly relationship disputes can escalate when emotions run high. Conflicts involving separation, jealousy or betrayal can have irreversible consequences.

When a relationship is coming to an end, seeking support from trusted relatives, counsellors, community leaders or authorities—and creating physical distance when tensions rise—can help prevent disagreements from turning deadly.
