A male student at Mount Kenya University (MKU) main campus in Thika is reportedly under investigation after he was allegedly caught recording female students while they were taking showers at a university residence.
The disturbing incident reportedly occurred late Thursday night, sending shockwaves through the residential facility and leaving students outraged over what they described as a serious violation of privacy.
According to information surrounding the incident, female students using one of the campus hostels noticed a smartphone strategically positioned above a partition separating the shower stalls.
Alarmed by what they had discovered, the students immediately raised an alarm, attracting the attention of other residents and campus security personnel.
Security guards reportedly rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspect before he could leave the premises. His mobile phone was subsequently confiscated and secured as potential evidence.
The suspect was later handed over to local police officers, who are expected to question him as investigations into the incident continue.
