<\/p>\nA family in Kiambu County is crying out for justice after the mysterious death of a young student who allegedly took his own life while being held at Kiambu Police Station. They insist the circumstances surrounding his death are questionable and demand an independent probe into what they believe is a deeply suspicious incident.<\/p>\n

The deceased, Brian Ndung\u2019u, was an architecture student at Kiambu National Polytechnic (KINAP) and had just settled into a new apartment in the area. His troubles began when he was arrested following accusations that he had stolen household items from a neighbour.<\/p>\n
However, from the moment the family began tracing the events, inconsistencies emerged. Claire, a relative, revealed that police claimed the complainant lived on the ground floor while Brian stayed above. But when the family visited the premises, they discovered the complainant actually resided on the first floor, with Brian living on the second floor\u2014completely contradicting the initial police narrative.
\nClaire further raised doubts about the identity of the person who first called the family, allegedly posing as a caretaker. According to several tenants, the building \u201crarely had a caretaker,\u201d deepening the family\u2019s suspicions about what truly transpired.<\/p>\n
Brian had only lived in the building for three weeks and was preparing to resume his studies after completing part of his architecture coursework. His brother, Alan Karanja, accused officers at the station of mishandling and mistreating Brian while he was in custody, demanding answers and accountability from those involved.<\/p>\n
Overwhelmed by grief, the family is urging the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) and other investigative bodies to launch a thorough, impartial investigation into the young man\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
By Friday evening, police had not provided a comprehensive explanation of the events leading up to Brian\u2019s final moments.
