Thousands of kilometres may separate Italy from Kenya, but for Sandro, distance was never strong enough to stand between him and the woman he loved.
The Italian man travelled all the way from Europe to Baringo South to make his relationship with Kenyan bride Sharon Jepngok official in a colourful traditional koito ceremony that brought together relatives, friends and well-wishers from both families.
The ceremony was held in Seretion village, Kasiela, Mochongoi, at the home of former councillor John Wendot, where the two families gathered to celebrate a union that crossed not only geographical borders but also cultures and traditions.
For Sharon’s family, the occasion was more than a wedding celebration. It was an opportunity to welcome Sandro into their family and introduce him to the customs and traditions that have shaped their community for generations.
