Before Eric could settle into the home he had spent years building, tragedy struck on Mbagathi Way in Nairobi. The BMW he was travelling in was involved in a horrific crash after it slammed into a footbridge. Moments later, the vehicle burst into flames, leaving little chance of survival.
Eric and the other occupants of the car lost their lives in the devastating accident, cutting short lives that were full of promise.
As news of his death spread, heartbreaking details about his final hours began to emerge.
One of Eric’s close friends revealed that they had spent the evening together at a popular entertainment spot in Nairobi West. The two laughed, shared stories, and even posed for a cheerful selfie—completely unaware that it would become the last photograph they would ever take together.
The friend disclosed that he had been offered a ride home in the same BMW. However, something made him hesitate. He felt the driver appeared too intoxicated to drive safely and decided not to get into the vehicle. Instead, he chose to travel home on a motorbike.
That single decision ended up saving his life.
