A family in Maliki Village is living through anxious moments after their 13-year-old daughter, Sharon Natasha, reportedly disappeared from home following a disagreement with her mother over her use of social media.
Sharon, a Grade 9 pupil at Maliki Primary Junior Secondary School, is said to have gone missing on Sunday, leaving her family desperately searching for answers and hoping that she will be found safe.
According to information from the family, the events leading to her disappearance began on Saturday night when Sharon’s mother reportedly discovered that the teenager had been communicating with people late into the night through a Facebook account that she allegedly had not disclosed to her.
Concerned about her daughter’s social media activities, the mother reportedly confiscated Sharon’s phone and ordered that the SIM card be destroyed.
At the time, the disagreement may have appeared to be a routine parent-child confrontation over phone use. However, the situation would take a worrying turn less than 24 hours later.
