A cloud of grief and shock has engulfed Migori County after disturbing CCTV footage surfaced showing the final known moments of 30-year-old businesswoman and mother of two, Davine Kwamboka, before her tragic death in a case that detectives suspect may have been a brutal domestic killing.
The footage, now central to police investigations, has left residents stunned as it appears to capture the events leading up to a crime that has shaken the local community.
According to investigators, Davine was seen arriving at her home accompanied by her husband and another man. Security cameras show the trio walking into the compound together, with her husband reportedly speaking on the phone while retrieving an item from a nearby window before they all entered the house.
What happened next remains the subject of intense investigation.
Authorities say the three remained inside the residence for some time before circumstances surrounding Davine’s death began to raise serious suspicion.
A postmortem examination later revealed a chilling finding: Davine died from severe head injuries caused by blunt force trauma, strongly indicating that she was violently assaulted before her death.
Even more disturbing, investigators reviewing the CCTV footage reportedly observed several suspects removing her body from the house in what appears to have been an attempt to conceal the crime.
The footage allegedly shows a bodaboda rider joining the group as they struggled to load the body onto a motorcycle. Detectives believe Davine was already dead at that point.
The investigation took another dramatic turn when police arrested Davine’s husband, Johnson Nyandigisi Bukundo, along with a taxi driver. The pair were reportedly intercepted while transporting her body toward an undisclosed location near the Isebania border.
The shocking developments have left family members searching for answers.
Relatives are demanding justice and questioning how Davine walked into her home alive with two men, only for her body to later be discovered under highly suspicious circumstances.
“This case must be thoroughly investigated. We want the truth and justice for Davine,” family members said.
Police at Isebania Police Station have since confirmed that six suspects are currently in custody as detectives work to reconstruct the events of that fateful day and determine the exact roles played by each suspect.
