The Catholic community in Uganda has been plunged into mourning following the sudden and tragic death of Reverend Father Romanus Etwap, a popular priest whose life of service to the church was cut short in a devastating road accident.
The priest died on Wednesday, September 2, in a horrific crash along the Soroti-Mbale Highway, leaving fellow clergy, Catholic faithful, friends and other Ugandans struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking news.
According to reports, Rev. Fr. Etwap was travelling along the busy highway when the vehicle he was in was involved in a collision with a Fuso truck. The accident reportedly occurred shortly after the priest had stopped at a petrol station to refuel.
