What chivayo did with man of God 4 days before crashing to death

Just four days before his life was tragically cut short in a helicopter crash, Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo reflected on a powerful spiritual encounter with Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman — an encounter that has since taken on a deeply emotional meaning following his death.

On September 26, 2026, Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, attended the Ownership Conference at House of Treasures Ministries in Johannesburg, South Africa. The gathering, hosted by Apostle Felix Okoh, brought together Christian leaders and other prominent guests.

It was during the conference that Chivayo met Apostle Joshua Selman for the first time.

For the wealthy businessman, the meeting appeared to be far more than an ordinary introduction. In a public reflection following the encounter, Chivayo described meeting Selman as a “great honour and privilege” and a “divine appointment.”

He spoke warmly about the preacher’s message, saying the encounter left him spiritually refreshed and encouraged.

Chivayo also connected the experience to his ambitions for the future. He expressed his desire to expand his business vision across Africa while ensuring that his plans remained firmly centred on God.

His reflection went beyond business success and wealth. Chivayo acknowledged that financial resources, intelligence and hard work alone could not guarantee the outcome of one’s plans.

He spoke about the importance of divine wisdom, favour, protection, blessings and direction, expressing a desire for God’s guidance over his personal life, his family and his business ventures.

The message delivered by Selman reportedly focused on themes including spiritual vessels, identity, capacity, refinement and complete surrender to God. Those themes appeared to resonate strongly with Chivayo, who publicly thanked the preacher for what he regarded as profound biblical revelations.

Then, only four days later, tragedy struck.

On September 30, Chivayo and his wife, Lucy, were killed in a helicopter crash in Marondera, Zimbabwe. Four other people also died in the accident, with no reported survivors.

The suddenness of Chivayo’s death has inevitably caused renewed attention to the words he shared after meeting Selman.

For many who knew of the businessman, his final public reflections now carry an emotional weight they could not have anticipated at the time. His emphasis on surrender, divine direction and the limits of human plans has become particularly poignant in retrospect.

Importantly, there is no indication that Apostle Joshua Selman predicted the helicopter crash or that the encounter was presented as a prophecy of Chivayo’s death.

Instead, what has captured public attention is the timing: a businessman speaking openly about God’s guidance, protection and purpose just days before an unexpected tragedy ended his life.

His final reflection has therefore become more than a message about business and faith. For those mourning Chivayo, it stands as a striking reminder of how unpredictable life can be — and of the importance he placed, in his final days, on seeking divine direction beyond wealth and human achievement.
