Four people die on spot in accident involving school bus in kisii hotspot

Four people are feared dead following a tragic road accident involving a school bus and a motorcycle at Nyansongo Coffee Factory along the Kisii–Kilgoris Highway.

The devastating crash, which occurred in the Nyansongo area, has left residents and families mourning the sudden loss of loved ones, with preliminary reports indicating that all four casualties were travelling on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, as authorities are yet to release a detailed account of what may have caused the collision. However, the incident has once again raised concerns about road safety along the busy Kisii–Kilgoris route, where motorists, motorcycles and pedestrians frequently share the highway.

The four victims have reportedly been identified by members of the community as Bro Fred, Manu, Mobegi and Mogaka. According to information circulating among residents, the four men are believed to have come from the same village in the Magenche area.

Their deaths have sent shockwaves through the community, with friends, relatives and neighbours struggling to come to terms with the sudden tragedy.

Emotional messages of condolence have continued to emerge as news of the accident spreads. One heartbreaking tribute described the victims as people who were deeply loved by those around them.

“We loved you, but Mungu kawapenda zaidi,” a grieving message read, expressing the pain of losing four members of the community at once.

The accident reportedly involved a Sensi school bus, adding to the shock surrounding the incident. It remains unclear whether any occupants of the bus sustained injuries, and further details regarding the number of people aboard the vehicle were not immediately available.

Emergency responders and members of the public are understood to have rushed to the scene following the crash. The bodies of the deceased were expected to be moved to a mortuary pending identification and postmortem examinations, subject to confirmation by authorities.

The tragedy has also sparked renewed calls for motorists to exercise greater caution on the highway, particularly when approaching busy trading centres and sections of the road frequently used by boda boda riders.

For the bereaved families, however, the focus is now on coming to terms with an unimaginable loss. Four lives have been cut short, leaving behind relatives, friends and an entire community grieving.

Out of respect for the deceased and their families, graphic images from the accident scene will not be published.

As investigations continue, more information is expected to emerge regarding exactly how the collision happened and whether any other people were injured.

Our deepest condolences go to the families, friends and community members mourning Bro Fred, Manu, Mobegi and Mogaka during this difficult time. May their families find strength and comfort as they come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.
