WHY BETTING IS SILENT KILLER DEMON . HERE IS BIBLE EVIDENCE

is gambling a sin ? The Bible is silent on many practices of daily life because life is filled with an infinite variety of circumstances. Nevertheless, the Bible does present principles for living righteously so that we can make reasonable inferences and trust the Holy Spirit to guide us in specific circumstances.

One of the greatest problems of gambling is it takes away from trusting in the Lord. God says I will provide for your needs. Satan says roll the dice there might be a chance that you win and become filthy rich. You see the problem. When you trust in God nothing is by chance. God provides for our needs and God gets all the glory. Gambling is showing that you don’t really trust in the Lord.

WHAT BIBLE SAYS ABOUT GAMBLING

The Bible makes no significant mention of gambling. Yet, it does offer a number of guiding principles that reveal how God feels about gambling.

At times, the Bible shows ungodly men participating in gambling (e.g., Roman soldiers casting lots for Jesus’ clothing in Matt 27:35). On the other hand, the Bible also shows godly people relying on an ancient form of gambling called casting lots (or die) to discern God’s will concerning a decision (e.g., when the Apostles cast lots or dice to determine who should replace Judas in Acts 1:26).

The basic nature of gambling—winning money at the expense of others—is at odds with the Bible’s warning to “guard against every sort of greed.” (Luke 12:15) Gambling is, in fact, fueled by greed. Gaming institutions advertise big jackpots, while downplaying the poor odds of winning, because they know that dreams of wealth prompt players to wager large amounts at the casinos.” Luke 12:15 (NKJV), “And He said to them, ‘Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”

The Bible also cautions against viewing luck as a mystic force that might bestow blessings. In ancient Israel, there were some who lacked faith in God and began “setting a table for the god of Good Luck.” Was such devotion to “the god of Good Luck” acceptable to God? No, he said to them: “You kept doing what was bad in my eyes, and you chose what displeased me.”—Isaiah 65:11, 12.

Gambling is driven by greed, which God hates. (1 Corinthians 6:9, 10; Ephesians 5:3, 5) Gamblers hope to gain money through the losses of others, but the Bible condemns coveting other people’s possessions.—Exodus 20:17; Romans 7:7; 13:9, 10.

Gamblers often rely on superstitions or luck. However, God views such beliefs as a form of idolatry, which is incompatible with his worship.—Isaiah 65:11.

Gambling can arouse an unhealthy competitive spirit, which is disapproved in the Bible.—Galatians 5:26.

Rather than promote a desire to get something for nothing, the Bible encourages hard work rather than gambling . (Ecclesiastes 2:24; Ephesians 4:28) Those who follow the Bible’s advice can “eat food they themselves earn.”—2 Thessalonians 3:10, 12.

1 Timothy 6:9-10 Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.read also: HOW TO KNOW YOU HAVE SPIRITUAL HUSBAND AND WIFE with DELIVERANCE MEANS

James 1:14-15 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death

Proverbs 28:22 Greedy people try to get rich quick but don’t realize they’re headed for poverty. This is likened with Gambling and lottery.

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Hebrews 13:5. 8.
