TEACHER WANJIKU HUSBAND
She got married in December 2014 to Victor Ber in a private ceremony at St. Pauls Catholic Church, University way.
The invite-only wedding that was graced by over 10 comedians, including Churchill, took place at City Park and judging by the crowd, it was a glamourous affair.
Churchill and Karis were the Mcees. The cake was a caricature of Teacher Wanjiku in her famous dotted pink dress and a smirk on her face.
It has been a tumultuous year ever since details emerged that theatre director Victor Ber had parted ways with his baby mama Anne, who is Teacher Wanjiku’s friend.
Victor and Teacher Wanjiku’s relationship was dogged by controversy and secrecy until the two revealed details. The two met more than five years ago when Ber took Wanjiku under his wings in the theatre world. Monday Blues wishes them well.
Did Wanjiku the Teacher ‘steal’ Ber from Anne Njeri?
“No one was stolen,” Ber defends Wanjiku the Teacher. “In fact, before splitting, Anne and I had talked about it and decided how we would live. It was a mutual feeling that we had fallen out of love and I had promised to pay her rent for one year. I don’t know why she changed her mind.”
When contacted, Wanjiku the Teacher retorted: “What makes you think I would be willing to talk to you? I’m not taking any interviews at the moment.”
TEACHER WANJIKU EPISODES AND JOKES
Teacher Wanjiku started doing her thing at the Heartstrings theater by appearing on a play titled 43rd Kenyan tribe. She got her big break on Churchill show after her YouTube video got a massive 200,000 views on YouTube after the first show. Since then her videos on YouTube titled Teacher Wanjiku Lessons have gotten a big viewership.
Airtel Kenya was quick to notice her talent and she has signed up a multi million deal with Airtel as their face for the 2 bob across all network Campaign. Her photos are all over on billboards and on TV ads which I think has also boasted her resume in the Comedy industry. Just like Eric Omondi started. Some people think she has replaced Omondi’s popularity on Churchill show. Personally I tune in just to watch her finalize and close the show.
WHY TEACHER WANJIKU LEFT CHURCHILL SHOW
I’ve been asked this question so many times. I was only supposed to do the show for a year, because I joined the show in 2013 in February and it was supposed to end in December 2013. So, when the contract ended, I didn’t want to continue, but the decision was thought of when I joined because we had said it was supposed to be like that, even Churchill knew it.
When I left, people didn’t really accept it because I kinda admit I left prematurely. It’s not easy to do what I did, you know, because I had already made a home for myself there, and then the name became so big, so people have different things to say, as to why I left the show. Some said, oh, I got money so I left, I have pride now, so I didn’t want to listen, but that was not the case.
The reason why we did that, is because there’s a danger with comedians being in one place for a very long time. If I would have stayed in Churchill, does it mean I wouldn’t bore people? So what would happen is such a case. After the show, we were supposed to do other projects outside Churchill show, which we are also working on, now that I’m back after the baby. And people are expecting a lot of negative things as to why I left the show, which is sad.
