Kenya hosts some of the richest men in Africa. A village in Kangema Murang’a County in Kenya may perhaps be ranked as the richest locality owing to the fact that several Kenyan billionaires come from the place.

Rwathia village in Murang’a County has 7 Kenyan billionaires hailing from there. According to a research article by Doctor Ndemo, the village controls approximately 20% of kenya’s GDP and 40% of the stock exchange. Some of the billionaires from the village include;

James Mwangi

He is the Chief Executive officer of Equity Bank. E graduated with a Bachelors of Commerce degree from the University of Nairobi. The renowned businessman has amassed huge amounts of wealth from his work and can be termed as one of the richest people in the country. he was born in 1962 in toRwathia village in Kangema.

Benson Wairegi

The CEO British American Investments Company was born in 1953 in the same village in central Kenya. He joined the prestigious company as a chief Accountant when he was just 24 years old.

The man has over 30 years experience in finace and investment banking. He is the Chairman of Dyer and Blair Investment Bank where he also owns a majority of the shares. The 70 year old also happens to be a University of Nairobi alumni where he obtained a degree in business
