The final farewell of Sanelisiwe Magagula, the personal aide to the late Lucy Muteke, has touched many hearts as family and friends gathered to bury the young woman following her tragic death in a helicopter crash.

Magagula was among the four people who lost their lives in the fatal accident that also claimed the lives of Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke, pilot Captain Kelvin Soda and co-pilot Captain Courage Mutavira.
Emotional photographs from Magagula’s funeral have emerged, capturing the sombre moments as mourners gathered around her grave to pay their final respects.
Many mourners were dressed in white as they participated in the emotional ceremony, observing local burial traditions. The atmosphere was filled with grief as relatives, friends and those who knew Magagula struggled to come to terms with the sudden loss of a woman whose life was reportedly still taking shape.
After her coffin was lowered into the grave, mourners slowly covered the burial site with soil, marking the painful end of her earthly journey.
Wooden logs were subsequently arranged around the grave, while flowers were placed on top, creating a simple but emotional final resting place for Magagula.
The burial offered a glimpse into the traditions surrounding her final send-off and sparked conversations online, particularly among Kenyans who compared the ceremony with burial practices commonly observed in Kenya.
Social media users expressed sympathy for Magagula’s family and loved ones, with many describing her death as especially heartbreaking because of her reportedly promising professional journey.
Magagula had worked closely with Lucy Muteke as her personal aide and was said to have been developing her career before the tragic accident abruptly brought her life to an end.
Her death has therefore been mourned not only as the loss of a member of the crash victims but also as the loss of a young woman whose future held considerable promise.
The emotional scenes at her funeral underscored the devastating human cost of the helicopter tragedy. For those gathered at the graveside, the occasion was no longer about the circumstances surrounding the crash but about saying goodbye to someone they knew, loved and hoped would have had many more years ahead.
Magagula became one of the first victims of the helicopter crash to be laid to rest, as families of the other victims continue to navigate the painful aftermath of the tragedy.
