ODM chairman in kisii dumps Raila to support Ruto

Deputy President William Ruto flew to Kisii town Thursday, despite chaos and running battles between police and two rival groups of youth who clashed ahead of his arrival.

Ruto’s tour to Kisii comes days after he met a delegation of leaders from the region at his Karen home in Nairobi in a strategy aimed at keeping his political fire burning.

“Our engagement with Kenyans should be based on development track-record and a deliberate plan to create jobs, boost food production and the revival of the economy.

Political support cannot be achieved through threats, coercion and intimidation but through persuasion,” Ruto tweeted after hosting a delegation from the county led by Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro and a host of MCAs.

Long serving ODM chairman in Kisii Samwel omwando was among the people who welcomed Ruto to Kisii today.

He was among the leaders who were given a chance to speak to Kisii town residents

Omwando unsuccessfully vied for the Kitutu Chache South MP seat during the August 8, 2017 polls.

In the past , Samuel Omwando, the Kisii County ODM chairman argued that the DP will not get the region’s votes in the 2022 polls despite his numerous trips to the region.
