Susan Mwangi is a mother of two kids and she has been taking care of her husband who has been sick for more than twelve years.They have been married for 30 years.
Susan’s husband has been suffering from dementia and he can hardly do anything for himself, he depends on Susan for everything. It all started as a sign of memory loss which never bothered Susan because she thought it was normal.
As years went by, she claims that her husband forgot their children and this was getting worse. She took him to the hospital but he was diagnosed with depression and every time he was on medication, his condition turned worse.
Susan claims her life turned to worse when she realized that her husband had already forgotten her and this made her get into depression. She felt as if her life had come to an end and she locked herself in the house for two years.
Susan accepted her husband’s condition and she claims she will never give up on him. She has to bathe, clothe and feed him since he cannot do anything for himself. She does not regret abandoning everything in order to take care of her husband
She has urged married couple to always remember the vows they take during their marriage and never to run away when the worse shows up in marriage.
