What is preaching? Peter Adam defines it as “the explanation and application of the word in the assembled congregation of Christ.” God’s truth is declared by the preacher, and its meaning is brought home to those who listen.

Rev Victor Githu, 10 years of age is arguably the youngest preacher in Africa currently. He hails from Kenya, Kiambu county.

The preacher from Juja took internet by storm in 2018 after he was captured preaching with so much vigor to a congregation largely made up of adults at his local church.

A three-minute video posted on the YouTube channel of a local TV station shows the young boy preaching to a sizable congregation that is listening keenly.

By the he was class four pupil at Faith Foundation School. He is referred to as ‘Reverend Victor’ and preaches every Sunday at Bethel Gospel Church in Juja.

What has mesmerized most people is Reverend Victor’s prowess and confidence on the pulpit as he delivers his sermon while quoting plenty of Bible verses.

According to the young man of God, he started his ministry at a tender age of five, something that left most people shocked. He almost took own life after parents’ attempt to block his ministry

“I started preaching when I was five-years old. I began talking at seven months and struggled to walk for two years. People started calling me pastor when I was little and that inspired me a lot,” said Githu.

He has since grown from better to best in his ministry
