Hassanal Bolkiah is the 29th and current Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei and the Prime Minister of Brunei. He is one of the last absolute monarchs in the world.

The palace in which Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah lives is made up of gold. The palace named Istana Nurul Eman Palace was built in the year 1984 and it is spread over an area of 2 million square feet. The dome of this palace is studded with 22 carat gold.
