A lady by the name Faiza from Murang’a county has narrated how she sold her kid for twenty thousand shillings after running away from home.
According to Faiza, she ran away from home after she through with her class eight and since she could not continue with her education, her mother wanted to marry her off to an old man but she manged to ran away and went in Nairobi to live with her friend.
Faiza met a man who introduced her to alcohol and drugs and in the process she became pregnant and things turned worse after her boyfriend abandoned her and the child.
Since she had no money and she was still young to take care of her kid, her friends adviced her to sell the kid at ksh 20,000 which she did and after the baby was born she gave the buyer but they were arrested.
Faiza was released from jail and she turned to worse where she started shop lifting in supermarkets and one day they were caught red handed. She was brutally beaten and people thought she was already dead and was taken to the mortuary where she spent her night.
Faiza became a drug addict and after her mother took her back home she found that her son whom she has sold had been living with her mother.
Faiza turned to worse where she could shoplift but she was already used to being jailed. One day she was arrested and taken to rehabilitation centre and this is how her life changed and she no longer use drugs.
Through her story she is able to counsel young people who are involved in drugs and she has seen youths transforming from worse to being better people.
