Pauline from Nairobi county sadly narrates her sad story of how her husband disappeared after being promised a 2 million compensation at his workplace. This was after he was involved in a major accident while on duty.
Pauline and her husband had been married for four years, and they blessed with two children. Her husband used to work at a construction company, whereby he earned good money. They lived comfortably until he got involved in an accident while in his area of work. Life took a negative turn from then on, up to date, she sadly recalls.
The husband was bedridden to an extent he used a catheter to pass urine. She took care of him all through regardless. One day, his boss called him for a compensation of Ksh 2 million. He dressed for the occasion that morning, not knowing that it would be the last time to ever set eyes on him.
Pauline tried to reach him severally after noticing that it was getting late, and he wasn’t home. Her efforts bore no fruits since his phone number wasn’t reachable. She became worried and informed her in laws the following day.
To her surprise, they asked her to mind the business of raising the kids and leave their son alone. It was heartbreaking for her, and she became suspicious of them. They later came and sold everything in their house and chased her away. She went to her mother, who in return refused to accommodate her because she had her budget.
It was the worst days of her life, she says. She decided to leave her young child at home without her mother’s consent. She left with the firstborn to live in the streets. Life has become unbearable ever since because affording a single meal is a big deal.
She is therefore pleading with her husband wherever he is to return home so that life would go back to normal. She is also asking for help from well-wishers to set up a business to take care of her children.
