Moraa’s death has left friends, relatives and members of the community mourning, particularly because she had reportedly been part of the funeral procession organised to give the popular entertainer his final send-off.

According to accounts circulating after the incident, Moraa was among the people travelling in a convoy associated with Ogatwoni’s burial when the group was involved in an accident. Sadly, although she survived the initial incident, she reportedly died the following day.

Her death has added another painful chapter to what was already an emotional period for the family, friends and fans of the late comedian.

MC Ogatwoni, whose real name was Samuel Bwonda Miruka, was laid to rest in Kisii on Thursday, November 5, 2026, in a ceremony attended by numerous friends, relatives, entertainers and other mourners.

The burial attracted considerable attention, with people travelling from different places to celebrate the life of a comedian whose humour had earned him admiration among fans.

However, amid the celebrations, emotional tributes and final farewell, concerns emerged over the conduct of some motorists and young people participating in the funeral procession.

Claims of dangerous driving and reckless behaviour reportedly emerged during the convoy, raising questions about road safety during large funeral gatherings.

The concerns became so serious that Kisii Governor Simba Arati addressed the issue during his speech at Ogatwoni’s burial.

The governor urged young people to exercise caution whenever participating in funeral processions, warning them against turning such occasions into dangerous displays of speed and excitement.

He reminded mourners that respecting traffic regulations was more important than showing off or attempting to impress fellow participants.

Arati reportedly cautioned those who could not follow traffic rules to remain at home rather than put their lives and those of other road users in danger.

His remarks have taken on a more painful significance following reports of Moraa’s death after the accident involving the convoy.

What was meant to be a memorable farewell to a beloved entertainer has now become another source of grief for people who were part of the procession.

For Moraa’s loved ones, the pain is particularly difficult to bear. She had reportedly joined others in celebrating the life of a man they admired, only for the journey associated with the final send-off to end in tragedy.

Her death has also renewed conversations about the dangers of reckless driving during funeral processions, where excitement, emotions and large numbers of vehicles can sometimes create hazardous conditions.

Funeral gatherings should provide an opportunity for families and communities to mourn their loved ones peacefully, not expose mourners and innocent road users to unnecessary danger.

As tributes continue to emerge, many are expressing sympathy to Moraa’s family and friends, while calling on motorists, especially young drivers, to take road safety seriously.

May Moraa rest in peace, and may her family find strength during this difficult moment.
