The ICC has ruled that William Ruto and Joshua Arap Sang have no case to answer on the ruling on a ‘no case to answer’ motion they filed in October 2015. This has been followed by different reactions from social media and political leaders.
Judges said that the cases were a mistrial due to witness interference and political meddling
It marks the end of the road to all the Kenyan cases before the ICC following the 2007/08 post election violence that resulted in the death over 1,000 people with several being left homeless
However it may not yet be over for Ruto and sang as prosecution through Fatou Bensouda is planning a new case against the two by looking for new witnesses as stipulated by law. The Hague-based court claimed that the case has been terminated due to witness tampering and political meddling.
