- United States International University, where she studied Activities and Societies: Kenya Model of United Nations, International Relations Club and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism (2007-2010).

Mwilu joined the media house in 2018 together with Jamila Mohammed, Linus Kaikai, Joe Ageyo among others. The lass has built a name for herself as she also worked with Standard Group as the features and documentaries editor at KTN.
In 2016, she was crowned the winner of the CNN Multichoice African Journalist of the Year Awards alongside cameraman Rashid Idi for a story investigating terror activities in Mandera and its border with Somalia titled Terror Crossing.
In 2013, she was named the reporter of the year by the Media Council of Kenya for her documentary, Armies of the Underworld.
Mwilu likes to keep her personal life private hence information about her dating life is not available. It is therefore not known whether she is married or has any children. However, this information will be updated as soon as it is available.

ASHA MWILU LEAVES CITIZEN TV
Citizen TV special projects editor Asha Mwilu has announced she has left Royal Media Services Ltd to concentrate on her start-up.
Asha joined Royal Media in April 2018 and has featured in various projects, including the Mara Heist expose which was aired in 2019.
She previously worked with Kenya Television Network (KTN) as a senior reporter for politics and special projects.
Asha covered current affairs, security and political stories while at KTN before exiting.
She announced her move on Twitter and thanked Citizen TV editors who have walked with her.
