Fresh concern has emerged over the disappearance of a Grade 10 student after a photograph appearing to show her with a young man resurfaced online, days after she was last seen leaving school
Sarah Adhiambo, whose mother Ritah Saisi has been desperately searching for her, reportedly disappeared last week after leaving school while she was unwell.
The latest development has intensified the family’s anxiety and raised new questions about what may have happened to the teenager.
According to family accounts, Sarah was at school when she told a teacher that she was not feeling well. She was subsequently allowed to leave and return home temporarily so that she could recover.
After spending about a day at home, relatives said Sarah appeared to be feeling better.
But shortly afterwards, she reportedly disappeared.
Her family says they have been unable to establish her whereabouts since then, despite efforts to trace her through relatives, neighbours and other people who may have encountered her.
The situation took another turn when a photograph reportedly showing Sarah with a young man resurfaced online three days after her disappearance. The image was said to have been taken in Luanda, Vihiga County, and has since generated intense discussion among members of the public.
Some people who viewed the photograph reportedly believe the young man could be Sarah’s boyfriend. However, the circumstances surrounding the photograph, including when and where it was taken and what happened afterwards, remain unclear.
The image has nevertheless sparked concern, with some members of the community questioning whether Sarah left voluntarily or whether she could have been influenced or coerced.
Others have urged the public to avoid speculation and allow the family and relevant authorities to establish the facts as the search continues.
For her mother, however, the biggest concern remains simple: finding her daughter and knowing that she is safe.
Ritah Saisi has continued knocking on doors, speaking to neighbours and contacting anyone who might have information that could help trace Sarah.
“We just want to know she is okay,” the distressed mother said, appealing to anyone who may have seen her daughter or knows anything about her whereabouts to come forward.
As the search enters another phase, the resurfaced photograph has provided a potentially important lead while simultaneously raising more questions.
The family remains hopeful that anyone with information will help them piece together Sarah’s movements and bring her safely home.
