5 CHEAP BUT EFFECTIVE WAYS TO TREAT TOOTH DECAY.

Tooth decay is the softening of your tooth enamel and refers to the damage of the structure of the tooth caused by acids that are created when plaque bacteria break down sugar in your mouth. If this loss of mineral from the enamel is left untreated, a cavity, or hole in the tooth, can eventually occur. Without treatment, these holes can grow larger over time and may even destroy the whole tooth.

The acids slowly break down the tooth enamel (the outermost layer of the tooth), and over time, decay can form in the enamel. The holes in the enamel are called cavities.

Your tooth is throbbing and you suspect a cavity is the culprit of your pain. Decades of dental research have since proven that it’s not possible to heal a cavity naturally. Why not?

The reason why you can’t get rid of a cavity in two days by yourself is that tooth enamel cannot repair itself. The American Dental Association notes that since enamel contains no living cells, it can’t repair decay or wear by itself.

Once the cavities goes through the enamel, decay may travel further into the tooth structure and proceed into the dentin and in severe cases, into the tooth pulp.

Here are simple ways to treat tooth decay

1 Clove oil

Applying clove oil on the affected area can do wonders as clove has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties and thus it helps in preventing cavity. The process can be applied for two-three times a day.

2.Garlic

Garlic tends to be an essential ingredient to maintain oral health. Raw garlic also helps in maintaining oral health. One must eat the garlic cloves on an empty stomach in the morning for better results.

3. Lemon

Lemon has certain citric acid present in it which helps in reducing pain. One can chew lemon slice for a few minutes and later must rinse their mouth with clean water.

4.Guava leaves

Guava leaves have an antimicrobial activity which can help in treating a cavity. One can simply chew guava leaves or can add crushed leaves to boiling water and the mixture can be used as a mouthwash.

5. Dental Floss

Flossing on a regular basis is very important. By removing food particles from your teeth, flossing can help prevent dental cavities. Many people find that flossing, particularly in tight spaces, is facilitated with a floss like Oral-B Glide floss.

How to Prevent Cavities

Since cavity-causing bacteria feed on sugar, watching what you eat is one way to help prevent cavities. Try to cut back on sugary drinks and snacks, like soda and candy. Instead, stick to water and healthy snacks like vegetables.

Establishing a good oral hygiene routine is the best way to reduce your risk of developing cavities. Remember to brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, and floss once a day.
