lions have been admired throughout history for as symbols of courage and strength. An adult lion’s coat is yellow-gold, and juveniles have some light spots that disappear with age.
A lion pride consists of a few adult males, related females and cubs. Groups of female lions usually hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates.
The lion is an apex and keystone predator; although some lions scavenge when opportunities occur and have been known to hunt humans, the species typically does not.
Here is alist of three people who killed a lion in the bible
On his way to his wedding, Samson encountered a lion, and “he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat” (Judges 14:6). Eventually, when Samson returned to the place where he killed the lion, he saw that a swarm of bees had created a hive in the carcass.
1 Samuel 17: 34-36 “ David then said to Saul ‘ your servant became a shepherd of his father’s flock, and a lion came also a bear, and each carried off a sheep from the flock. I went after it and struck it down and rescued it from its mouth. When it rose up against me, I grabbed it by its fur and struck it down and put it to death.
Because of David’s faith in God, which grew daily because of his experiences protecting the sheep, he was able to slay the giant when he came along.
We all face our Goliaths – the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, the doctor with dreaded news – any event in our lives where everything forever changes.
David uses the lion and the bear as a major thrust of his argument, encouraging King Saul to allow him to fight the Philistine. David’s faith had some experience behind it.
